MI London Women 2026 Squad & Schedule: The Hundred Fixtures, Players & Key Stars

MI London Women 2026: A New Name, a New Era, and the Squad Chasing The Hundred Title at the Kia Oval

Q: Why are MI London Women called MI London and not Oval Invincibles anymore?

The team formerly known as the Oval Invincibles were rebranded to MI London ahead of the 2026 season. It followed the England and Wales Cricket Board's sale of equity stakes in Hundred franchises to private investors — including IPL franchise owners. The Mumbai Indians ownership group took a stake in the Oval-based franchise and rebranded it in line with their global "MI" identity, which already includes Mumbai Indians, MI Cape Town, MI New York and MI Emirates. Two other teams were rebranded at the same time — the Northern Superchargers became Sunrisers Leeds, and Manchester Originals became Manchester Super Giants. MI

London still play their home games at the Kia Oval in south London, the same iconic ground the Invincibles called home.

Q: How successful were MI London (as Oval Invincibles) before the rebrand?

Extraordinarily successful. The women's team won the first two editions of The Hundred, establishing themselves as the original dominant force in the women's competition. The men's team completed a hat-trick of titles in 2025, winning three consecutive men's Hundred championships. Between the two sides, the Oval-based franchise is the most successful in the tournament's history. MI London inherit that winning legacy and the pressure that comes with it — the expectation at the Kia Oval is nothing less than title contention every single season.

The New Era

The Hundred has entered a genuinely new chapter in 2026. The March 2026 auction brought IPL-style bidding wars to English cricket for the first time, replacing the old draft system. Global stars now feature across every squad, and the franchises backed by IPL ownership groups — MI London, Sunrisers Leeds, and Manchester Super Giants — bring elite franchise cricket expertise to the competition.

For MI London Women, the rebrand is about more than a name. It is about carrying two championship legacies forward under a global identity while integrating a refreshed squad built to compete immediately. The 100-ball format remains the same — 100 balls per side, fast, frenetic, and easy to follow — but the stakes and the star power have never been higher.

The Squad

Key Players to Watch

Hayley Matthews

The West Indies captain and one of the best all-rounders in world cricket. Matthews opens the batting and bowls off-spin — a genuine two-in-one asset who can win a game with bat or ball. Her ability to take early wickets in the powerplay and then anchor or accelerate the innings makes her the most important player in this squad. When Matthews fires, MI London are almost impossible to beat.

Amelia Kerr

The New Zealand all-rounder is one of the most complete cricketers in the women's game. Her leg-spin is a wicket-taking threat through the middle overs and her batting can rebuild an innings or finish it with power. Kerr's temperament in high-pressure moments — honed across World Cups and franchise leagues worldwide — gives MI London a match-winner in every phase.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge

One of England's most explosive top-order batters. Wyatt-Hodge's ability to take the game away from the opposition inside the powerplay sets the tone for the entire innings. On her day, few openers in the women's game are more destructive. She provides the fast start that the 100-ball format rewards.

Chinelle Henry

The Jamaican pace-bowling all-rounder brings genuine aggression with the ball and clean hitting down the order. Her yorkers and slower balls at the death give MI London a bowling option for the most pressurised phase of the innings, and her lower-order power can add crucial late runs.

Kirstie Gordon

The left-arm spinner is a control-and-wickets specialist through the middle overs. In a format where every ball counts, Gordon's ability to slow the run rate and take wickets when the opposition is trying to accelerate is enormously valuable.

MI London Women play eight league-stage matches — meeting six sides once and their local rivals London Spirit twice. All fixtures are double-headers, with the women's game preceding the men's fixture at the same venue.

Timezone guide: All match times are BST (British Summer Time, UTC+1). IST = UTC+5:30. ET = UTC-4 (July-August). ET (American Easter TimeZone)

Exact dates and times for the back end of the group stage are subject to final confirmation by The Hundred. The opening fixture against Sunrisers Leeds at the Kia Oval on July 21 is locked in as the tournament curtain-raiser.

The Format and What MI London Need to Do

The Hundred runs from July 21 to August 16, 2026. Each team plays eight league-stage matches. The team finishing top of the table qualifies directly for the Final at Lord's on August 16. The second and third-placed teams meet in the Eliminator on August 14 for the remaining place in the title clash.

MI London Women open their campaign against defending women's champions Sunrisers Leeds at the Kia Oval — a marquee opening-day fixture that pits two championship pedigrees against each other. Winning that opener in front of a home crowd would set exactly the right tone for a franchise carrying the weight of two previous titles and a brand-new identity.

The squad has the balance to go all the way. Matthews and Amelia Kerr give them two of the best all-rounders in world cricket. Wyatt-Hodge provides explosive intent at the top. The bowling depth — Gordon, Stonehouse, Norris, Coppack — gives them options for every surface and every phase.

The name is new. The expectation is not. MI London Women are built to win.
